Abstract

This project presents different numerical methods for the solution of ordinary differential equations. We considered the first order differential equation dy dx = 1 − y, with the initial conditions y(0) = 0 and observed that Runge-Kutta Method of order 4 was a more accurate method to the solution. Also, we considered another equation dy dx + y 10 = e −x 10 cos x ,with the initial conditions y(0) = 0 and observed that Picard’s Method was a more accurate method to the solution.
