Abstract

Abstract This study explores the psychological effects of drug abuse and its impact on human behavior, emotions, and overall mental health. The research investigates how prolonged substance misuse contributes to conditions such as anxiety, depression, cognitive decline, and addiction. Using a descriptive research design, data were gathered through questionnaires, interviews, and existing literature to understand the depth of psychological disturbances linked to drug abuse. The findings reveal that drug abuse significantly disrupts emotional stability, impairs judgment, and increases the risk of long-term mental disorders. The study recommends increased public awareness, early intervention programs, and improved access to mental health services to mitigate the psychological harm caused by drug abuse.
