Abstract

Granulated Cassava is on the increase and the application is largely dependent on the Sieving separation process in order to achieve final consumption product. it is usually an energy sapping task and requires a lot of energy when done manually. Hence in order to improve the sieving efficiency at reduced cost, save time and labor associated with manual sieving. a machine was developed to do the work. This machine employs a sieving tray and a shaft which sieves the particles from the granulated cake. The shaft is connected to a pulley which is driven by a belt. The shaft converts the rotational motion of the pulley to reciprocating motion which moves the sieve tray forward and backward for sieving to be carried out. The machine basically comprises a sieving chamber and a 2.5 HP motor.
