The study indicates that debt recapitalization has a significant positive impact on UBA’s financial performance by enhancing financial stability, operational flexibility, and risk management. The restructuring or refinancing of existing debt helps to lower interest costs and extend repayment periods, which in turn improves financial stability. This restructuring also frees up cash flow, providing UBA with greater operational flexibility and the ability to better manage its strategic planning. Equity recapitalization similarly has a notable positive effect on UBA’s financial performance. By increasing capital adequacy, it strengthens the bank's financial foundation, aiding in stress management and regulatory compliance. The reduction in financial leverage achieved through equity recapitalization diminishes the bank’s reliance on debt, thereby improving its stability. Additionally, a stronger equity position can lead to better credit ratings, more favorable borrowing terms, and heightened investor confidence. Operational recapitalization also contributes positively by improving financial stability and growth through enhanced efficiency and performance.
