Abstract

ABSTRACT This study evaluates the antimicrobial efficacy of various antiseptics commonly used for domestic cleaning. We tested the effectiveness of antiseptics against a range of microorganisms, including bacteria and viruses. The disk-diffusion method, use-dilution test, and in-use test were employed to assess the antiseptics' ability to inhibit microbial growth and eliminate pathogens. Key Findings - Antimicrobial Effectiveness: Antiseptics containing phenolic compounds, halogens, and quaternary ammonium compounds showed significant antimicrobial activity against test microorganisms. - Concentration and Exposure Time: The effectiveness of antiseptics increased with higher concentrations and longer exposure times. - Surface Type: Antiseptics were more effective on non-porous surfaces than on porous ones.
