DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ELECTRONIC LEARNING SYSTEM (A CASE STUDY FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC YOLA)
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The rapid evolution of technology in online storage, display, and communication has made it feasible to create sophisticated electronic learning systems accessible from any location with network connectivity. This project focuses on the design and implementation of an electronic learning system tailored to meet the specific educational needs of Federal Polytechnic Yola. The system is envisioned as a comprehensive digital platform that supports the entire educational process, from content delivery to student assessment and interaction. An electronic learning system serves as a central repository of educational resources, including lecture notes, multimedia content, and interactive tools, all accessible online. This system represents a new infrastructure designed to enhance the learning experience by leveraging digital content and interactive features.
The primary objective of this research is to develop an electronic learning system that is both user-friendly and efficient, catering to the needs of both students and instructors at Federal Polytechnic Yola. The design of the system involves around creating a robust database architecture and intuitive interface tools that facilitate easy access to educational materials. The platform is designed to work seamlessly on Windows-Server operating systems, utilizing technologies such as Visual Studio .NET and Microsoft Access to manage and interact with the system’s database. This framework provides a model for navigation that simplifies the learning process, offering predictable access points to various collections of educational content. The implementation of this electronic learning system marks a significant step forward in enhancing the educational capabilities of Federal Polytechnic Yola. The research concludes by evaluating the system’s effectiveness and providing recommendations for future enhancements, including the integration of advanced features and further development of the system’s capabilities.
