ROUTE SURVEY OFROM NEW S.U.B JUNCTION TO IGIRIGIRI NEW L.G.A JUNCTION, PART OF THE FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ADO EKITI, EKITI STATE.
Abstract
This project was undertaken at the Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti, Along Rector Village in Ekiti State, spanning a total distance of 500km. The primary aim was to collect precise spatial data essential for road design and construction. The survey encompassed traversing to set up control points, longitudinal profiling to figure out elevation changes along the route, cross sectioning at regular intervals to assess terrain variations perpendicular to the alignment and detailing to capture all relevant features within the project area. The Advanced surveying instruments, including GNSS base and rover were employed to ensure accuracy in data collection. Cross sectioning measurements were conducted at 25m intervals using levelling instruments, offering comprehensive insights into the terrains profile. The gathered data was meticulously processed and used to generate the road’s longitudinal profile with the aid of AutoCAD software.
