CREATION OF 3D GEO-DATABASE FOR ERIFUN COMMUNITY
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The goal is to a create 3D spatial database that will improve the area's disaster risk assessment, land management, and urban planning. Limitations in spatial analysis and planning result from traditional two-dimensional (2D) mapping tools' inability to capture the vertical dimension of geometric elements like building heights and terrain variations necessitate the work. Mavic Pro Platinum (UAV) was used to get high-resolution aerial imagery in order to fill this gap, and the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Emlid Reach RS+ technology was used to locate Ground Control Points (GCPs) for precise georeferencing. To ensure thorough coverage and effective data collection, the study area was split up into five flying segments. To create a Digital Surface Model (DSM), orthomosaic map, and flood risk map, the gathered data was processed using Agisoft Metashape 1.5.5, ArcGIS 10.7.1, and QGIS 3.22.3. By combining geographic and attribute data, such as roads, buildings, land use, and elevation, land use charge assessment map, conformance to landuse standard map and flood vulnerability zones were produced. The platform created is a useful tool for surveyors, urban planners, environmental managers, and policymakers when dealing with spatial issues including infrastructure planning, flood control, and land administration. The study comes to the conclusion that using 3D geo-databases has a great deal of promise for boosting disaster preparedness, supporting sustainable urban development, and improving the accuracy of spatial data in developing towns like Erifun.
