DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION OF A 200W WIRELESS PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project focuses on the design and construction of a 200W wireless public address (PA) system
aimed at overcoming the limitations of traditional wired systems. Conventional wired PA systems
often suffer restricted mobility, complex installation, and cable vulnerability, making them
unsuitable for dynamic environments. To address these challenges, the system was developed
using radio frequency (RF) technology to enable wireless transmission of audio signals, ensuring
greater flexibility, portability, and user convenience.
The system comprises key components including a microphone and preamplifier, FM transmitter
and receiver modules, a 200W power amplifier, and a high-power loudspeaker. The design
methodology covered circuit implementation, construction, and testing, with emphasis on audio
clarity, signal stability, coverage range, and energy efficiency. Performance evaluation
demonstrated the system’s ability to deliver clear sound over a range of up to 100 meters, with
sufficient power output to address medium- to large-scale audiences in indoor and outdoor
environments.
Although the physical construction was limited by challenges in achieving stable frequency
synchronization between the transmitter and receiver, the project provides a practical framework
for developing cost-effective, scalable, and portable wireless PA systems. The outcomes
highlight the potential of modern RF and amplification technologies in enhancing public
communication, particularly in schools, religious gatherings, emergency response, and outdoor
events.
