Abstract

This project entails a topographic survey conducted between the New Mass Communication Building and the Chief Staff Lecturers’ Office Complex at the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, aimed at generating accurate spatial information to support infrastructure design and campus development planning. The survey employed a Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) linked to the Ekiti State Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS), ensuring centimeter-level precision in positioning. Fieldwork activities included establishing boundary control points, recording detailed site features, and collecting systematic spot height data at 10-meter intervals. The captured coordinates were processed using Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD 2007, and Golden Surfer 10, resulting in a series of topographic outputs such as contour and terrain maps at a scale of 1:2000 with a 0.25-meter contour interval. The final maps and terrain models provide a reliable spatial framework for engineering projects, landscape design, drainage evaluation, and future campus expansion. This study also underscores the effectiveness and accuracy of RTK-GNSS technology in contemporary topographic surveying and geospatial data analysis.
