Abstract

The prediction of player performance using machine learning has gained significant attention in recent years due to its potential applications in various fields such as sports analytics, fantasy sports, and player development. Machine learning algorithms have the capability to analyze large volumes of data and identify patterns that can help predict the performance of individual players in sports. By leveraging historical data on player statistics, injuries, playing conditions, and other relevant factors, machine learning models can provide valuable insights into how a player is likely to perform in future games. (Jones, & Smith, 2021) In the realm of sports, the ability to predict player performance accurately holds immense value for teams, coaches, scouts, and sports analysts. Traditionally, player evaluation has relied heavily on subjective assessments, past performance records, and observational data. However, with the advent of machine learning techniques and the proliferation of data analytics in sports, there is an opportunity to enhance player performance prediction through data-driven methodologies.
