Abstract

ABSTRACT This study investigated the effects of Carpalobia lutea extract on reproductive hormone levels in Wistar rats. Forty rats were divided into four groups: a control group (Group A) and three experimental groups (Groups B-D) administered 100mg/kg, 150mg/kg, and 200mg/kg body weight of Carpalobia lutea extract, respectively, for 21 days. Blood samples were collected for hormonal analysis, and the testis, liver, and kidney were removed for histological studies. FSH, LH, testosterone, and prolactin levels were analyzed using enzyme immunoassay technique. The results showed a significant increase in FSH and testosterone levels in rats administered 150mg/kg and 200mg/kg body weight of Carpalobia lutea extract compared to the control group (p
