DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A MICROCONTROLLER-BASED AUTOMATIC HAND SANITIZER
Abstract
This project presents the design and construction of a microcontroller-based automatic hand sanitizer system aimed at reducing the spread of infectious diseases through contactless operation. The system uses a proximity sensor to detect hand movement and automatically dispense sanitizer without physical contact. A microcontroller serves as the control unit, coordinating sensor input and actuator output. The device improves hygiene, minimizes cross-contamination, and is suitable for public places such as hospitals, schools, and offices. The project demonstrates the practical application of embedded systems in promoting public health and safety.
