DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF AUTOMATIC FIRE FIGHTER WITH SOUND NOTIFICATION
Abstract
The design and construction of an automatic fire fighter with sound notification emerges
as an innovative approach aimed at addressing the perennial challenge of fire outbreaks
which constitute a major threat to lives, properties, and critical infrastructures. The
framework of the system is anchored on sensor-based automation whereby flame and
temperature sensors serve as the primary detection elements, constantly monitoring
environmental parameters and transmitting corresponding signals to a microcontroller-
based control unit. Upon recognition of abnormal conditions indicative of fire, the control
unit initiates a dual response mechanism: firstly, the automatic activation of a miniature
water pump strategically interfaced with a nozzle to dispense pressurized water towards
the detected fire source; and secondly, the triggering of an audio alarm unit designed to
generate loud sound notifications capable of alerting nearby individuals and prompting
further safety measures. Furthermore, experimental validation carried out on the prototype
demonstrated its high sensitivity, swift response time, and robust performance under
controlled fire conditions, thereby proving its practical feasibility as a preventive and
mitigating safety device. In addition, the incorporation of sound notification into the design
not only enhances situational awareness but also bridges the gap between automated
suppression and human intervention, thus establishing a holistic safety mechanism.
