PHYTOCHEMICALS AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITIES OF WATERMELON SEEDS
Abstract
Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) seeds, often overlooked and discarded, are emerging
reveal the presence of important bioactive compounds including flavonoids,
to evaluate their therapeutic and nutritional value. Phytochemical screening will
alkaloids, saponins, tannins and phenolics. Antioxidant activity would be assessed
compositions of watermelon seeds and proximate composition of watermelon seeds
as valuable source of bioactive compounds and essential nutrients. This study will
explore the antioxidant potential, phytochemical constituents, and proximate
using DPPH radical scavenging andother in-vitro assays, indicating strong free
radical neutralization capacity.
