DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF AN IOT BASED BIOMETRIC ATTENDANNCE SYSTEM
Abstract
This project presents an IoT Based Biometric Attendance System designed for monitoring undergraduate students during examinations. Traditional attendance methods are often slow, inaccurate, and vulnerable to impersonation, while many existing automated systems lack real time monitoring and IN/OUT tracking. The proposed system integrates a fingerprint sensor with an ESP32 microcontroller and cloud-based database to provide secure, real time attendance records. An LCD display and buzzer deliver immediate user feedback, ensuring efficiency and ease of use. By combining biometric verification with IoT technology, the system improves accountability, transparency, and administrative efficiency in examination attendance management.
