DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL COMPENDIUM FOR ALL SCHOOLS IN EKITI STATE
Abstract
This project focused on developing a digital compendium designed to improve access to learning materials for schools across Ekiti State. The goal was to create a central, digital platform where students and teachers can easily access approved notes, past questions, syllabus guides, and other instructional resources. The system was developed to address challenges associated with the traditional paper-based compendium, such as limited availability, poor preservation, and slow updates. The digital compendium was designed using web-based technologies, with a database that stores subject content, lesson summaries, and downloadable materials for primary and secondary school levels. The platform allows seamless navigation, quick content search, and real-time updates by authorized administrators. It also supports mobile accessibility to ensure easy use for students in both urban and rural areas. The findings from testing showed that the digital compendium improves learning efficiency by reducing reliance on outdated printed materials and enhancing uniformity of curriculum delivery. Teachers reported better lesson planning, while students benefited from continuous access to structured learning resources. The project concludes that a digital compendium is a practical, scalable solution for enhancing educational quality in Ekiti State.
