Abstract

Abstract This study examines the influence of virtual connections and social media attachments on audiences’ exposure to reality television shows. The rapid growth of digital platforms has changed the way individuals interact with media, creating new patterns of engagement, especially among young audiences. Using a descriptive research design, data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to selected respondents who actively use social media platforms. The findings reveal that virtual interactions and online communities significantly contribute to increased awareness and viewership of reality TV shows. Social media not only serves as a platform for discussion and promotion but also strengthens the personal connection viewers feel toward reality show participants and content. The study concludes that social media engagement plays a key role in shaping media consumption habits, particularly in relation to reality television. It recommends that media producers and marketers leverage virtual connections and online interactions to enhance audience reach and participation.
