DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A THREE DIMENTIONAL FOLDABLE TABLE ATTACHED WITH DRAWER FOR WORKING IN THE GRAPHIC STUDIO FACULTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN,
Abstract
This design project is driven by the recognition that graphic designers spend a significant amount of time at their workstations, and that a well-designed table and drawer system can have a profound impact on their comfort, productivity, and creativity. Table is a piece of furniture with a flat surface supported by legs, used for various purposes. And it constructed using different materials like engineering wood (plywood, MDF), plastic and resin, glass and metal alloys, and is been constructed by measuring and cutting the wood into different sizes and then joining each part together to form a table. It involves a number of concept development and sketchbooks, as well as many computer generated design layouts and the finished artwork. It also provides insight into the process of gathering pertinent data for the study. The variables for this research work entails the following but not restricted to quality materials. The researcher carefully select the quality materials used so as to achieve a finished design that appeal to the eye as well as a different spectrum of the society. The table has a measurement of 96cm by 177cm. The main 3-dimensional table will serve the purpose of providing more efficient working space for graphic student in the faculty. Finally, this project recommends further research is carried out on table in order to improve and increase the number of tables in the University.
