Abstract

This study focuses on the design and fabrication of a dental surveyor using locally sourced materials for dental technology practice. The research is organized into five chapters, with each chapter providing a comprehensive overview of the study. Dental surveyors are essential tools used in dentistry to accurately measure and analyze the oral structures of patients. Traditionally, dental surveyors have been manufactured by established dental equipment companies. However, recent advancements in technology and the availability of 3D printing have paved the way for the development of locally made dental surveyors. This project aims to provide an overview of the concept of locally made dental surveyors, highlighting their advantages, challenges, and potential impact on the dental industry. The emergence of locally made dental surveyors offers several benefits, such as cost-effectiveness, customization options, and increased accessibility. By utilizing 3D printing technology, dental professionals and researchers can create surveyors tailored to specific patient needs, ensuring precise measurements and enhanced treatment outcomes. The impact of locally made dental surveyors on the dental industry could be significant. By reducing costs associated with traditional manufacturing processes, these devices can potentially improve affordability and accessibility of dental care, particularly in resource-limited settings. Moreover, the ability to customize surveyors according to patient needs can enhance treatment planning and precision, leading to better patient outcomes. In conclusion, the development of locally made dental surveyors represents a promising advancement in the field of dentistry. With continued progress, locally made dental surveyors have the potential to revolutionize dental practice and positively impact patient care.
