Abstract

Antimicrobial resistance is a growing global health concern, as it poses a significant threat to the effective treatment of infectious diseases. Aframomum danielli is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Zingiberaceae family, which is known for its aroma. The results of phytochemical tests for A. danielli showed the presence of saponins and fats and oils. Table 2 showed the zones of inhibition of A. danielli crude extract on some pathogens in comparison with the control. The crude extract had inhibition only on E.coli. Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus were not significant. This shows that A. danielli extract had activity only on E.coii and others were resistant to it.
