DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A ROBOTIC ARM CONTROL SYSTEM FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The design and construction of a robotic arm control for industrial applications is aimed at developing a cost-effective and efficient system capable of performing repetitive and precision-based tasks with minimal human intervention. The project focuses on the integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic control systems to achieve coordinated motion of the robotic arm joints. The robotic arm is designed with multiple degrees of freedom (DOF) to mimic human arm movements such as rotation, extension, and gripping. The system utilizes a microcontroller (such as Arduino or PIC) as the central processing unit to control the motion of servo and DC motors that drive the arm. Sensors are incorporated to provide feedback on position and movement, ensuring accuracy and stability during operation. The control algorithm is implemented through programmed logic that interprets input signals and actuates the corresponding mechanical movement. This design finds practical use in various industrial operations, such as material handling, assembly lines, packaging, and welding, where precision and reliability are required. The prototype developed demonstrates that automated robotic systems can significantly improve production efficiency, reduce human error, and enhance safety in hazardous working environments. The project thus contributes to the advancement of low-cost automation in industrial systems, serving as a foundational model for further development of intelligent robotic systems adaptable to different industrial processes.
