Abstract

The performance of photovoltaic (PV) systems is influenced by a variety of environmental factors, notably temperature and solar irradiation. This project aims to evaluate the efficiency and energy output of PV systems under varying temperature and irradiation conditions. By conducting a series of experiments and simulations, the project will analyze how fluctuations in temperature and solar irradiation impact the electrical performance, such as voltage, current, and power output, of the PV modules. The study will involve setting up a PV system in a controlled environment where temperature and irradiation levels can be varied systematically. Data on voltage, current, and power output will be collected over a range of temperature (from low to high) and different irradiation intensities (e.g., low, moderate, and high). The performance metrics, including conversion efficiency and power loss due to temperature effects, will be compared and analyzed. In addition, the project will explore the temperature coefficient of the PV modules, which indicates how the power output decreases with increasing temperature. The findings from this research will provide valuable insights into optimizing the design and deployment of PV systems, particularly in regions where temperature and irradiation are highly variable. The results may also inform the development of more efficient PV technologies and help in forecasting energy output for grid integration and off-grid applications. This study is expected to contribute to the understanding of the environmental impacts on PV systems and provide a foundation for enhancing their performance and reliability in real-world applications.
