STRUCTURAL VARIATION IN MAJOR PROTEINS OF W. BANCROFTI IMPLICATED IN LYMPHATIC FILARIASIS INFECTION
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Structural variations in major proteins of W bancrofti was structured. W bancrofti is the parasite nematode implicated in lymphatic filariasis, a neglected tropical disease (NTD). The proteins in the parasite were identified to be Toll-like MMP2 and CEACAMIA major genes. Nucleotide and amino acid sequences were gathered from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database. Evaluation of structural presentation of the genes and other genital parameters revealed how the frequency and distribution of polymorphism can be used to evaluate their genetic effects.
