Abstract

The experiment was conducted at the project site of Agricultural Technology Department Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo Ohaji, to determine the effect of different rate of pig dung on performance of okra (Abelmoscus esculentus). The experiment was laid out in the randomized complete block design (RCBD) replicated four times. There were a total of 16 beds measuring 7m x 7m with 492m between beds and blocks, respectively. The result of the experiment showed that different rates of pig dung was 30t/ha gave the best. The effect of 20t/ha was also found to be good on the growth of okra. Okra plants gave the least performance under the zero application treatment. The study suggests the use of 20 t/ha and 30 t/ha of pig dung.
