Abstract

The evolution of technology and urbanization necessitated the development of specialized commercial spaces that balance technological advancement with environmental conservation and human needs. This research focused on the design of the Saraki ICT Electronics Commercial Park in Ilorin, envisioned as a dynamic hub for innovation, development, and commerce that supports the growth of technology-driven businesses. The project aimed at integrating principles of organic architecture, which prioritize the conservation of the natural environment, sustainable resource use, enhancement of user comfort and well-being through nature-oriented design into ICT electronics commercial parks design in North-Central part of Nigeria .The study assessed the nature and functional attributes of ICT electronics commercial parks, identified the organic architecture principles applicable to electronics commercial parks, determined the essential design requirements for implementation, and ultimately developed a comprehensive design proposal that applied organic architecture principles effectively. Fifteen (15) case studies were randomly selected to ensure a broad and diverse representation of existing ICT commercial parks. An observation checklist was utilized to evaluate critical design variables. Data was collected and analyzed with descriptive statistical method and presented in percentages, figures, tables and charts. The findings revealed that 80% had retail outlets, 73.3% had training facilities 86.7% had research labs, and recreational facilities were provided in 93.5% of the selected case studies. Architectural assessment showed that 77.62% incorporated organic architecture design principles. The wide and consistent adoption of organic architecture principles in the design of electronic commercial parks further emphasized the need for its incorporation in the proposed design of Saraki ICT Electronics Commercial Park in Ilorin. A design model was developed using Revit 2021 for 2D and 3D architectural modeling, and rendered using Lumion 12.0. The study concluded that integrating organic architecture in ICT commercial parks significantly enhances environmental conservation, sustainability and user well-being. The study recommended the effective application of organic architecture design principles to professional architects in future ICT commercial park developments Generate a meta description
