Abstract
Public relations (PR) plays a crucial role in fostering peace and stability in higher institutions by facilitating effective communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement. This study evaluates the effectiveness of PR strategies in promoting peace at Bamidele Olumilua University of Science and Technology. Using a mixed-method approach, the research explores the role of PR tools such as media relations, crisis communication, dialogue initiatives, and student engagement programs in mitigating conflicts and enhancing institutional harmony. Primary data is gathered through surveys and interviews with students, staff, and PR professionals, while secondary data includes institutional reports and policy documents. The findings reveal the extent to which PR strategies influence campus peace, identifying strengths, challenges, and areas for improvement. The study concludes that a proactive and inclusive PR approach can significantly enhance peaceful coexistence in higher institutions. Recommendations are provided to optimize PR efforts for sustainable peace within academic environments.
