SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEM
Abstract
This project work focuses on the study of a Solar Energy System as an alternative and renewable source of electrical power. The increasing demand for electricity and the challenges associated with conventional energy sources such as fossil fuels have made solar energy an important solution for sustainable development. Solar energy is abundant, environmentally friendly, and suitable for both rural and urban electrification. The study examines the major components of a solar energy system, which include solar panels, charge controller, inverter, battery storage, and wiring system. It also explains the working principle based on the photovoltaic effect, where sunlight is converted into electrical energy. Different types of solar energy systems such as grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid systems were discussed. Furthermore, the project highlights the installation procedures, maintenance practices, advantages, disadvantages, and applications of solar energy systems. The study concludes that solar energy systems provide a reliable and clean energy source that can reduce dependence on non-renewable energy and help improve electricity supply, especially in areas with limited access to the national grid.
