The overall prevalence of type 2 diabetes was 50% among tested patients. 26% of diabetes patients were females as 24% were males. The age group mostly affected by diabetes was 51- 60 years. There was a high prevalence of type 2 diabetes observed in this study compared to studies done in previous years which raise a public health concern. Lastly, the high intake of glucose, overweight and being obese increases the chances of acquiring type 2 diabetes mellitus though some other factors also increase the chances of having diabetes mellitus type2.
