The survey research method was adopted for the study, focusing on identifying the types of information needs of farmers, the available information resources and services, the provision of these resources by the authorities, and how effectively farmers are utilizing these resources. The data were analyzed using frequency tables and percentages. The findings revealed that farmers in Zaria Local Government Area have access to various agricultural information resources, such as books, journals, and radio programs. Agricultural services provided by local authorities include extension services, seminars, and workshops. The study also found that farmers are generally satisfied with the services provided, as they benefit from better market access for their produce and support in adopting modern farming techniques. In conclusion, the study recommends that Zaria Local Government recognizes the high illiteracy rate among rural farmers and ensures that extension workers are fluent in the local languages to effectively communicate with farmers. This approach would enhance the effectiveness of the agricultural information services and improve the overall agricultural productivity in the area.
