Abstract

Abstract The leaf extract of Citrus sinesis were screened for its antimicrobial and phytochemical composition. The solvents used for the leaves is ethanol. The leaves were dried and soaked with ethanol. This extract was filtered and concentrated using water bath. The extract was tested against human pathogenic disease causing bacterial such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aerginosa, Staphylococcus aureus using the well diffusion method. The ethanolic extract of leaf of C. sinensis inhibition against the entire test microbe ranging from 8 to 16 mm diameter inhibitory zone. In present study, bacterial extract showed a varying zone of inhibition of growth of tested organism. Phytochemical properties of leaf of Citrus sinesis obtain from ethanolic was investigated using standard method. The result confirmed that presence of antibacterial activity and phytochemical in shade dried extract of Citrus sinensis against the human pathogenic bacteria.
