Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the effect of ethanolic leaf extract of crassulaceae and bisoprolol on apoptotic markers (caspase– 3, BCL – 2) and total and conjugated bilirubin and the cytoarchitecture of the liverindoxorubicininducedcardiactoxicityinwistarrat.Thirtyfive(35)wistarratsweighing110-190were divided into 5 groups of 7 rats each. Group 1( normal control), Group 2 (Cr only), Group 3 (Dox only), Group 4 (Dox +Cr), Group 5 (Dox+Bis),. Ethanolic leaf extract of Cr was administered orally at dose of 600mg/kgbwt.Doxorobucinwasadministeredintraperitoneallyatdoseof50mg/kg/bwt.Allthegroupswere givennormalratchowandwateradlibtum.Theregimenlastedfor28days.Thereafter,theanimals werevhen sacrificed using chloroform anesthesia.
