ProjectFederal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo State · 2025 · NDN PRJ-476399431764003639DETERMINATION OF SOME PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF AFZELIA AFRICANA SEEDEkwem Catherine · HND · Agric and Bio-Environmental EngineeringAfzelia Africana seeds were subjected to quasi-static parallel plate compression test, using Monsanto Tensometer. The loading orientations were horizontal, vertical and edge-to-edge loading positions at four different moisture content levels

of 10.6%, 12.8%, 15.2% and 18.4% wet basis (wb). Slight variations were observed in the means of the physical characteristics at varying moisture content in the range of 10.6% to 18.4%. Loading position was shown to have significant effect on all the mechanical properties studied. This value was 155.68N for vertical loading, 139.27 N for horizontal loading and 81.0 N for edge-to-edge loading. Hardness ranged from 6.97 to 6.92 N/mm for horizontal loading, 6.92 to 6.67N/mm for edge-loading and 6.99 to 6.93N/mm for vertical loading respectively in the moisture content range of 10.6 to 18.4% for all cases. Rupture energy varied from 104 to 416.33 N-mm on horizontal loading, 59.96to 241.82 on edge-loading and 190.125 to 419.171 Nmm on vertical loading respectively for the same range of moisture content. The data generated in this study can be applied when estimating the energy and force needed for shelling the seeds and in making useful suggestions on the loading condition that will demand the least energy for the operation and shelling. The physical properties are also useful in process design and analysis.

The Objectives of this study were to describe the trends of the naira exchange rate and external trade balance, determined the effect of naira exchange and external trade balance and causal relationship between the naira exchange rate and external trade balance.

Unit root test was carried out with the use of Augmented Dickey Fuller to ascertain the stationary of the variables and they were found to be stationary at order 1(0) and 1(1). ARDL (Auto regressive distributed lag) bound test was used to analyze the model that there is long-run co- integration among the variables. The granger causality test was used to test for the causality among the variables in the model as well as checked the direction of causality among variables. The result shows that granger causality revealed that there is no directional relationship between exchange rate and trade balance and between inflation on trade balance.

The study concluded that the here is no significant effect between these variables and trade balance. However, money supply was found to significantly influence inflation, and exchange rate changes significantly affected money supply. The study therefore recommends that government the government should make it a requirement to create a support system for domestic firms to expand output growth and improve quality. This will encourage the consumption of local products as imports become relatively expensive when the currency depreciates

ProjectUniversity of Ilorin, Kwara State · 2025 · NDN PRJ-48642331764002622ANALYSIS OF SUCCESS AND CHALLENGES OF ONLINE CHEMISTRY EDUCATION IN SELECTED HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS WITHIN KWARA STATEPrecious Olajumoke Akinpelu · BEd · Chemistry EducationABSTRACT
This study examined the success of online chemistry education in selected higher education institutions within Kwara State. With the growing integration of digital learning platforms in tertiary institutions, it is vital to evaluate how effectively these platforms support chemistry education.
The study adopted a survey research design, utilizing a structured questionnaire to gather data from 200 randomly selected chemistry education students across various institutions in the state. The focus was to assess the extent of e-learning utilization and determine whether demographic factors, particularly gender, influence students’ engagement with online chemistry learning tools. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods.
A major finding revealed that gender does not significantly influence students' utilization of e-learning facilities for chemistry learning. This suggests a level of digital inclusiveness in online chemistry education across genders.
The study concluded that while e-learning facilities are gradually being adopted in the teaching and learning of Chemistry in universities, their full potential has yet to be realized. The study recommends continued investment in digital infrastructure and training to enhance the effectiveness of online chemistry instruction across tertiary institutions in Kwara State.
