INCORPORATING MURAL MOTIFS FROM A SCHOOL WALL PAINTING FOR THE ENHANCEMENT OF AN OFFICE CURTAIN DESIGN
Oluwasegun Micheal Olotu · HND · Industrial Design - Textile

This project explores how mural motifs from a school wall painting can be used to improve office curtains at the School of Art, Design, and Printing. The study addresses the problem of old curtains and faded walls, which reduced the school’s aesthetic appeal and professional look. The main goal was to show how mural designs could be adapted into textile patterns for curtains. The specific aims were to identify and record mural motifs, convert them into textile designs, produce office curtains, and evaluate the effectiveness of the design transfer. The method involved documenting the mural motifs, creating digital designs, producing curtains using screen printing and sewing, and repainting the walls to complement the curtains. Feedback from students and staff was also collected. Findings showed that a bright and well-decorated environment improved student motivation, pride, and engagement. Using light yellow and dark brown on walls and curtains enhanced the school’s appearance and created a welcoming learning space.

    Abstract
This study investigates the impact of dividend poley on the market value and sustainability
of deposit money banks in Nigeria, with a particular focus on First Bank Nigeria Ple over a
tom-year period from 2014 to 2023. The primary variables examined include Dividend Payour
Ratio (DPR), Retention Ratio (RT), Dividend Yeld (DDY), Dividend per Share (DPS), Total
Asers (TA), and Financial Leverage (FL). Secondary data were sourced from the audited
annual financial reports of First Bank Nigeria, ensuring a robust analysis of the bank s
financial performance. Using multiple regression analysis facilitated through E-VIEW
software, the study aimed to discern the relationshps between the identified variables and the
dependent variable Marker Share Price (MSP). Results demonstrated that DPR had a
significant negative effect on MSP (R - -29.13906, P < 0.05), while DPS exhibited a
significant positive impact (B - 0.2409366, < 0.05). Additionally, DDY showed a positive
effect (B = 0.1638604, P < 0.05) on MSP, whereas RRT had a negative impact (B = -0.465701,
P < 0.05). The findings suggest that effective dividend policy is pivotal in enhancing the
marker value of deposit money banks, as a clear relationship is established between dividend
metries and stock performance. Thus, the study concludes that adherence to prudent dividend
policies can significantly augment shareholder wealth. Recommendations for corporate
managers and investors include the reinforcement of dividend policy frameworks to maximize
investor confidence and market performance while ensuring compliance with ta

THE INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR AMONG CONVICTED INMATES
Blessing Rukewe Omodaji · BSc · Criminology and security studies

This study explores the influence of social media on criminal behavior, highlighting both its facilitative and preventive roles. With the rise in global social media usage, platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok have increasingly become arenas where various forms of criminal activities such as cyberbullying, cyber fraud, phishing, and extortion are perpetrated. The study examines how the anonymity, widespread reach, and rapid dissemination of information inherent in these platforms contribute to the proliferation of such crimes. Drawing on theories such as Social Learning Theory and Routine Activity Theory, the research provides a theoretical lens for understanding how social media interactions may normalize or encourage criminal acts. Utilizing a quantitative research design, data was collected via structured questionnaires administered to 100 male inmates incarcerated for cybercrimes at the Kirikiri Maximum and Medium Custodial Centers in Lagos, Nigeria. The findings aim to enhance the understanding of the complex relationship between social media and criminal behavior, offering insights for law enforcement, policy-makers, and social media users to develop effective preventive strategies and promote safer online environments.

THE IMPACT OF CAPITAL FLIGHT ON ECONOMIC GROWTH IN NIGERIA.
Azeezat Adewumi Abdulfatai · BSc · Finance

This study investigates the impact of capital flight on economic growth in Nigeria. Capital flight—the large-scale outflow of financial assets from a country—has long been a major challenge for developing economies, leading to reduced domestic investment, declining productivity, and weakened fiscal capacity. Using secondary data sourced from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the World Bank between 1990 and 2024, the study employs regression analysis to examine the relationship between capital flight and GDP growth rate. The results reveal a significant negative correlation between capital flight and economic growth, indicating that increased outflow of capital adversely affects investment, employment, and public revenue. The study concludes that effective macroeconomic policies, anti-corruption measures, and improved political stability are essential to minimize capital flight and promote sustainable economic development in Nigeria.
