The proximate
composition of Maytenus senegalensis wasevaluated. High moisture was observed in
Maytenus senegalensis with the value of 12.74% while low moisture was observed with the
value of 12.70%. High ash was observed in Maytenus senegalensis with the value of 7.83%
while low ash was observed with the value of 7.79%. High crude fat was observed in
Maytenus senegalensis with the value of 6.55% while low crude fat was observed with the
value of 6.53%. High crude protein was observed to be48.23% while low crude protein was
observed to be 48.20%. The qualitative phytochemical composition of Maytenus
senegalensis was evaluated. Saponin, tannin, flavonoid, phenolics, steroid, terpenoid and
cardiac glycosides were present when screened while phlobatannin, alkaloid and
anthraquinone was not detected. The minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum
bactericidal effects of Maytenus senegalensis was evaluated. Staphylococcus aureus 29213,
Escherichia coli 25922, Pseudomonas aeroginosa 27853, Klebsiella pneumoniae 700303
and Streptococcus pyogenes 14028 were tested for inhibitory concentration and bactericidal
effects of Maytenus senegalensis. High inhibition was observed in Klebsiella pneumoniae
700303 followed by Pseudomonas aeroginosa 27853 while low inhibition was observed in
Escherichia coli 25922 and Streptococcus pyogenes 14028. In recent years, special attention
is being given on alternative safe natural bio-remedies to cure the infectious diseases
because of their less or no side effects and resistance in microbes against them. The result
reveals that 100g n-hexane extract of Maytenus senegalensis, was found very effective
against bacteria pathogens. So it may provide new leads in development of new
antimicrobial compound for the therapy of diseases and infections.

ProjectAmbrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State · 2025 · NDN PRJ-66225731762601799PROXIMATE COMPOSITION OF COMPOSITE PUDDING FLOUR PRODUCED FROM RICE AND BLACK EYE BEANFaith Iribhobose · BSc · Human Nutrition and DieteticsComplementary Puddings are popular desserts gotten from mixture of wet Millet root or tuber crops with seasoning such as salt, pepper, crayfish etc wrapped and steamed in banana leaves and the likes. It can either be a dessert or a savory (salty spicy or sugary) dish served as part of a main meal. This study aimed at evaluating the proximate composition of composite pudding flour produced from rice and black-eyed beans( RBP). Four samples A [50R : 50B]; B[40R : 50B]; C [60R : 40B]; D [100%B] were considered and they were formulated from the rice and black-eyed Bean. The proximate composition of the samples revealed the mean moisture content range from 0.59% to 1.94%, protein content varied from 1.25% to 35.8%, fat varied from 0.03% to 2.17%, Ash varied from 0.02% to 1.49%, while carbohydrates varied from 391.60% to 574.44%. it was concluded that the nutrients were enhanced in the composite flours more than the 100% and puddings produced from rice and black-eyed beans provide a good source of affordable macronutrients. However, the proximate components were within the normal range in the zones.

ProjectFederal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State · 2025 · NDN PRJ-4030411031762601040IMPACT OF REMOTE MONITORING TECHNOLOGIES ON CONSTRUCTION SITE SAFETYBabalola Ayomide Abraham · HND · Building TechnologyThis study explores the impact of remote monitoring technologies on construction site safety, focusing
on their effectiveness, cost-benefit implications, and barriers to adoption. The study aimed to evaluate
how these technologies enhance hazard identification and risk mitigation while identifying key
challenges to their implementation. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through
structured questionnaires from 71 respondents out of 80 within the Lagos State construction industry,
achieving an 88.75% response rate. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed for data
analysis to validate the relationships among cost-benefit, barriers, and safety outcomes.
Findings revealed that 87.32% of respondents rated remote monitoring technologies, such as drones,
wearable devices, and sensors. Furthermore, 83.10% reported frequent hazard mitigation before
incidents, supporting the technologies' proactive safety capabilities. Despite these benefits, challenges
such as high implementation costs (42.25%), lack of technical expertise (29.58%), and data privacy
concerns (15.49%) were significant barriers. SEM analysis confirmed the reliability of the study
constructs result, indicating strong alignment with theoretical expectations.
The study concludes that remote monitoring technologies significantly improve safety outcomes but
require cost-effective strategies, enhanced training, and robust data governance for widespread
adoption. Recommendations include financial incentives, tailored training programs, and stakeholder
engagement to foster acceptance and integration. This research contributes to knowledge by providing
empirical evidence and practical strategies to enhance construction site safety through technology
adoption, emphasizing its transformative potential despite existing barriers.
