CALCULATION AND INSTALLATION OF BATTERIES FOR SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS
Victor Izuchukwu Umeobiorah · BEng · Electrical Engineering

This project explores the methodologies and practical considerations involved in integrating battery storage systems with solar photovoltaic (PV) installations. It addresses the challenge of solar energy intermittency by developing accurate battery sizing techniques and efficient installation procedures. The study includes data collection, load analysis, site assessment, environmental evaluation, and Battery Management System (BMS) integration to ensure system reliability and safety. Through detailed calculations, a 5 kVA Solar PV system was designed using 12V/240Ah batteries connected in series, achieving a stable 56.8V at 28% inverter load and providing a full day backup capacity. The findings demonstrate that well-sized and properly installed battery systems significantly improve energy reliability, reduce operational costs, and support sustainable energy adoption. The work concludes that effective solar-plus-storage integration is vital for advancing clean, efficient, and dependable renewable energy solutions.

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A WEB-BASED INTERNSHIP E- LOGBOOK WITH REAL-TIME GEO-LOCATION FACILITIES
Emmanuel Iyanuoluwa Abajingin · BSc · COMPUTER SCIENCE

ABSTRACT <br><br> This project presents the design and implementation of an e-logbook system with geo-location facilities. The current method of managing student internships, primarily relying on paper based logbooks, is characterized by critical limitations. <br><br> The study employed the Agile methodology to design and develop a robust, three-tier web application serving the distinct needs of the Intern, Industry Supervisor, and Academic Coordinator. Core technologies such as HTML, CSS, Java, php were employed to develop the system interface, logic and functionalities and MySql database. The core functionality centers on the Real-Time Geo-Location feature, which captures and embeds the Intern's GPS coordinates and a timestamp at the point of log submission. This provides an irrefutable digital proof of presence at the designated internship site, resolving the primary weakness of the manual system. <br><br> In conclusion, the developed Web-Based Internship E-Logbook successfully replaces the deficient manual system, providing a secure, efficient, and verifiable platform. The system is recommended for adoption as it significantly improves the integrity and effectiveness of the industrial training experience.

LEADERSHIP AND EFFECTIVE SECONDARY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION IN UGHELLI SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF DELTA STATE
Ovigueroye Doris Itete · BSc · Educational / Psychology Guidance and Counselling

This research work is on leadership and effective secondary school administration in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State. This study adopted the descriptive survey design, the instrument for data collection was a researcher made questionnaires. The 20 item instrument adopted the modified 4 point likert scale of SA, A, D, and SD. The sample was 200 drawn from the population of 20 principals and 180 teachers through simple random sampling techniques. Four (4) research questions were analyzed. The instrument was validated by experts and reliability coefficient of 0.82. Established pilot test means were used to answer the research questions. It was found among others that a good leader must possess the ability of innovation and to provide changes when needed, insufficient provision of fund and inadequate infrastructural facilities and poor learning environment hinders effective leadership administration in school. It is recommended among others that secondary education managers should make sure that the selection of school principals is based on qualification and should not be on sex bias.

ISLAMIC RESOLUTION ON CHILD TRAFFICKING: A CASE STUDY OF ETSAKO WEST
Abdulshokur Oseni · BEd · Islamic Studies

ABSTRACT<br> This study looks at child trafficking in Etsako West, Edo State, Nigeria, and how Islamic teachings can help stop it. Child trafficking is a big problem in this area, where children are used for forced labor, sexual exploitation, and other harmful activities. The research finds out why this happens, like poverty, lack of education, and weak law enforcement. It also checks how bad the effects are on children, such as physical and mental harm, loss of education, and social isolation. The study uses Islamic principles, which stress kindness, justice, and protecting children, to suggest ways to fight trafficking. By talking to people like victims, community leaders, and officials, the research shows how Islamic rules can guide actions to prevent trafficking, protect victims, and punish traffickers. It suggests better awareness, stronger laws, and support for victims to make Etsako West safer for children.

Munirat Damilola Owolabi · HND · Mass Communication

ABSTRACT<br> This study examines digital platform and their tole in promoting small scale business in Offa, Kwara State. Three objectives guided this study while two theories: Technological determinism theory and adoption of innovation theory served as the theoretical underpinnings upon which this study was anchored. Survey Research method was used while simple random and purposive sampling techniques were used to select 375 respondents from the population of this study with a structured questionnaire as the instrument of data collection. Findings revealed that digital platforms have positively impacted small scale businesses in Offa, Kwara State. Also, digital tools increased their business visibility as the findings showed that 63.0% noted improved customer engagement. However, outcomes of users may depend on how strategically the platforms are utilized. The study recommended that institutions and government agencies should strengthen digital literacy programs targeted at small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. The study further recommended that entrepreneurship development centers and NGOs should design interventions that focus not only on business start-up capital but also on digital marketing support.

PROXIMATE, PHYTOCHEMICAL, AND ANTIBACTERIAL POTENTIAL OF N-HEXTANE EXTRACT OF MAYTENUS SENEGALENSIS
Mary Damilola Oguntoyinbo · BSc · Science Laboratory Technology

Plants are perceived for their capacity to deliver an abundance of optional metabolites and<br> humankind has involved numerous species for a really long time to treat different illnesses.<br> However, the aim of this study is to analyze the proximate, phytochemical activity and<br> antibacterial properties of n-hexane of extract of Maytenus senegalensis. The proximate<br> composition of Maytenus senegalensis wasevaluated. High moisture was observed in<br> Maytenus senegalensis with the value of 12.74% while low moisture was observed with the<br> value of 12.70%. High ash was observed in Maytenus senegalensis with the value of 7.83%<br> while low ash was observed with the value of 7.79%. High crude fat was observed in<br> Maytenus senegalensis with the value of 6.55% while low crude fat was observed with the<br> value of 6.53%. High crude protein was observed to be48.23% while low crude protein was<br> observed to be 48.20%. The qualitative phytochemical composition of Maytenus<br> senegalensis was evaluated. Saponin, tannin, flavonoid, phenolics, steroid, terpenoid and<br> cardiac glycosides were present when screened while phlobatannin, alkaloid and<br> anthraquinone was not detected. The minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum<br> bactericidal effects of Maytenus senegalensis was evaluated. Staphylococcus aureus 29213,<br> Escherichia coli 25922, Pseudomonas aeroginosa 27853, Klebsiella pneumoniae 700303<br> and Streptococcus pyogenes 14028 were tested for inhibitory concentration and bactericidal<br> effects of Maytenus senegalensis. High inhibition was observed in Klebsiella pneumoniae<br> 700303 followed by Pseudomonas aeroginosa 27853 while low inhibition was observed in<br> Escherichia coli 25922 and Streptococcus pyogenes 14028. In recent years, special attention<br> is being given on alternative safe natural bio-remedies to cure the infectious diseases<br> because of their less or no side effects and resistance in microbes against them. The result<br> reveals that 100g n-hexane extract of Maytenus senegalensis, was found very effective<br> against bacteria pathogens. So it may provide new leads in development of new<br> antimicrobial compound for the therapy of diseases and infections.
