Ninety-six Arbor Acres broiler chicks were randomly assigned to four treatment groups, each with three replicates of eight in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD .The birds received different levels of BTF in their drinking water: 0 mL/L (T1 – control), 40 mL/L (T2), 80 mL/L (T3), and 120 mL/L (T4). BTF was introduced at the age of (4) four weeks and continued until the 7th week. Key production indicators such as feed intake, water intake, weight gain, final body weight, and feed conversion ratio (FCR) were recorded ,the data obtained were subjected to statistical analysis using ANOVA. The findings revealed that BTF had a significant effect (p

ProjectMoshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State · 2026 · NDN PRJ-29839910531777996610HEPATIC AND RENAL TOXICITY PROFILE OF PHAULOPSIS SILVESTRISRoqeebah Morenikeji Oloyede · HND · Pharmaceutical TechnologyThis study evaluated the hepatic and renal toxicity profile of methanol leaf extract of Phaulopsis silvestris, a medicinal plant widely used in traditional medicine, using Wistar albino rats as experimental models. The increasing reliance on herbal remedies necessitates scientific validation of their safety, particularly regarding vital organs such as the liver and kidneys. A total of twelve male Wistar rats were randomly assigned into four groups, including a control group and three treatment groups administered 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg body weight of the extract respectively for 14 days. Biochemical parameters including liver function markers (alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, gamma-glutamyl transferase, and bilirubin) and kidney function markers (urea and creatinine) were analyzed.

The results revealed no statistically significant differences (P < 0.05) in the levels of liver enzymes, bilirubin, urea, and creatinine between treated and control groups. These findings indicate that the methanol extract of Phaulopsis silvestris does not induce acute hepatotoxicity or nephrotoxicity at the tested doses. The study therefore suggests that the plant extract is relatively safe for short-term use. However, further investigations involving sub-chronic and chronic toxicity studies are recommended to establish its long-term safety profile.

ProjectLagos State University, Ojo, Lagos State · 2026 · NDN PRJ-2983401631777996527DEVELOPMENT OF CARD-GAME LEARNING MATERIAL AND ITS EFFECT ON STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOME IN INORGANIC CHEMISTRY IN SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLJoshua Oyedeji Bamgbose · BEd · Chemistry EducationThis study addressed poor academic performance in inorganic chemistry among Nigerian senior secondary students, attributed to the subject's abstract nature and prevalent teacher-centered methods. The research developed and evaluated a card-game learning material focusing on the periodic table and trends. Using a quasi-experimental design, 60 SSS 2 students from District V area, Lagos State, were assigned to an experimental group (card-game) or control group (conventional lecture). The Inorganic Chemistry Achievement Test (ICAT) assessed pre-test and post-test scores.

ANOVA confirmed groups were equivalent at baseline (F(1, 58) = 0.138, p = .711). ANCOVA revealed a significant difference in post-test scores: F(1, 58) = 8.894, p = .004, with the card-game method accounting for significant variance. The strategy was equitable and inclusive, not moderated by gender (F(1, 57) = 0.044, p = .834) or age (F(1, 57) = 2.305, p = .134). The card-game material engaged students and improved understanding of abstract concepts.

The study concludes the card game learning material is a highly effective, practical, and inclusive intervention for teaching inorganic chemistry. It recommends game-based strategies into the national science curriculum to enhance engagement, understanding, and outcomes, contributing to national STEM development goals. Implementing such strategies can lead to better academic performance and a more scientifically literate population in Nigeria. Game-based learning shows promise for challenging chemistry topics and making abstract concepts more tangible for students. Teachers can use such materials to create interactive lessons.
