ProjectEkiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State · 2026 · NDN PRJ-787101331767815138THE RELATIONSHIP AMONG INSTITUTIONAL QUALITY HEALTH OUTCOMES AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN NIGERIA USING TIME SERIES DATA BETWEEN 1980 AND 2024Oluwatosin Elizabeth Omisakin · BSc · EconomicsThis study examines the relationship among institutional quality health outcomes and economic growth in Nigeria using time series data between 1980 and 2024. The specific objectives of the study are to: examine the long-run and short-run impact of institutional quality and health outcomes on economic growth in Nigeria; examine the interaction among health outcomes, institutional quality and economic growth in Nigeria; and examine the causal relationship among institutional quality, health outcome and economic growth in Nigeria. The study Used estimation technics of Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The ARDL result indicate that there is an absence of long run relationship between the dependent variable and independent variables. In the short run, government expenditure on health and regulatory quality in health sector have a positive relationship on economic growth in Nigeria. While control of corruption and government effectiveness have a negative relationship on economic growth. The study concludes that institutional quality variables such as control of corruption (COC), government effectiveness (GEF), and regulatory quality (REQ) have limited immediate effects on economic growth, while health expenditure (GEX_HT) also shows no significant impact. The study recommended that given the relationship between health expenditure and corruption, anti-corruption measures should be embedded in public spending programs. This includes deploying digital systems for financial management, enhancing whistleblower protections, and conducting regular audits to prevent fund mismanagement.

ProjectAdekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State · 2026 · NDN DIS-735443921767814953EDUCATIONAL POLICY REFORMS IN NIGERIA: THE IMPLICATIONS OF CONVERTING POLYTECHNICS AND COLLEGES OF EDUCATION TO UNIVERSITIESEmmanuel Joshua Jacob · BSc · Political ScienceThis work analyzes the implications of recent educational policy reforms in Nigeria, focusing on the conversion of polytechnics and colleges of education into universities. It argues that while this policy aims to enhance the recognition and employability of graduates, it also risks undermining the foundational goals of vocational and technical training and teacher education. The research identifies key challenges such as funding constraints, quality assurance, and the cultural perception of educational institutions that contribute to systemic inequalities within Nigeria’s higher education landscape. By employing Human Capital Theory as a framework, the study underscores the necessity of aligning educational reforms with labor market demands and highlights the importance of preserving the unique mandates of polytechnics and colleges of education. Ultimately, the work advocates for a balanced approach to educational reform that enhances access to higher education while maintaining a diversified educational ethos capable of supporting Nigeria's developmental needs. The recommendations provided stress the need for adequate funding, stakeholder engagement, and ongoing policy consistency to ensure the successful implementation of these reforms.
