The rheological properties of drilling muds play a critical role in ensuring efficient drilling operations, particularly in the oil and gas industry. Bentonite-based muds are commonly used due to their thixotropic behavior and ability to suspend drill cuttings. This research focuses on enhancing the rheological properties of bentonite drilling mud through the incorporation of natural biodegradable polymers (Cassava and Corn starch) as environmentally friendly additives. A comprehensive experimental study was carried out in which varying concentrations (0g - 10g) of cassava and corn starch were added to standard bentonite mud formulations. The prepared samples were subjected to rheological analysis using a rotational viscometer to determine key parameters including plastic viscosity (PV), yield point (YP), and gel strength at both 10 seconds and 10 minutes. Additionally, mud density was evaluated to assess the compatibility and stability of the polymer-enhanced mud systems. The results indicated a notable improvement in the rheological behavior of the bentonite mud with the addition of both cassava and corn starch. Specifically, PV increased from 4cp to 11.5cp for corn starch and 4cp to 10.5cp for cassava starch and YP increased from 9 1b/100ft2 to 33.5 1b/100ft2 for corn starch and 9 Ib/100ft2 to 23 Ib/100ft2 for cassava starch with different polymer concentration, enhancing the mud’s carrying capacity and suspension efficiency. Among the two polymers, corn starch exhibited slightly superior performance, likely due to its higher amylopectin content and better hydration characteristics. These findings highlight the potential of cassava and corn starch as sustainable alternatives to conventional chemical additives in drilling fluids, particularly for operations requiring environmentally responsible solutions.

ABSTRACT <br> The study investigated the menace of text message abbreviations and its impacts on the academic performance of students in English Language external examinations in Ilesha-West Local Government Area of Osun State The sample size of one hundred (100) respondents were used for this study. The respondents selected were students from senior secondary schools in Ilesha West Local Government Area of Osun State. A simple random sampling technique was used to select ten (10) students each from ten (10) selected senior secondary schools. The research instruments used in this study for the purpose of data collection were a close ended questionnaire designed and distributed by the researcher. The study revealed varying student confidence levels and challenges like anxiety and comprehension issues in English classes. Low participation in discussions suggested deficits in critical thinking and communication skills essential for academic success. Text message abbreviations adversely affected formal writing, spelling accuracy, and language switching abilities. It was recommended among other things that educational app developers should create tools that aid students in practicing formal English writing and understanding the differences between formal and informal language.

ABSTRACT<br> This study examines the ef ect of neighbourhood characteristics on residents’ satisfactioninDoya area of Bauchi metropolis. Field data were gathered using a structured, close-endedquestionnaire containing administered to the household head of Doya area of Bauchi metropolisusing simple random sampling. A total number of one valid questionnaires were usedfor theanalysis. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (Mean score and frequency table)and linear regression method through SPSS. The study found that electricity, water, drainage, availability of schools, availability of hospital, economic activities, neighbourhood security, sanitary services, recreational facilities and accessibility are factors af ecting resident’ssatisfaction. It further found that satisfaction with proximity to work, water, and educational<br> facilities were striking the highest mean score. Finally linear regression model reveals that<br> neighbourhood condition significantly af ects resident’s satisfaction. The study suggests aneedfor the government to provide more social amenities in the study area. Proper routinemanagement of social amenities should be done to enhance the resident’s satisfaction in thestudyarea.

The aim of the study is to determine the proximate composition of a formulated blend of sesame, watermelon, sugarcane, and groundnut. The samples were placed in separate container labelled (Sesame, Water melon seeds, Sugar cane and Groundnut) at different ratio of Sesame, Water melon seeds and Sugar cane were mix. The proximate composition of the samples was determined by the standard methods of Association of Analytical Chemist (AOAC, 1980). The findings of the study revealed that the proximate composition of the formulated Sesame, Water melon seeds, Sugar cane and Groundnut cake shows significance level of Moisture, Ash, Fiber, Lipid, Protein and Carbohydrate. The moderate lipid and ash contents also suggest an adequate contribution of energy and minerals to the diets. Slight variations in carbohydrate levels reflected the formulations’ focus on protein enrichment. The study recommends that the high protein and fiber content of the formulations make them suitable candidates for use in school feeding programs, maternal and child health nutrition, and food aid interventions

The study investigated sleeping position as determinant of emotional wellbeing among married female gender in Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo, Oyo State. The study adopted descriptive survey design. It employed purposive sampling technique in selecting a sample size of 100 (one hundred) participants. Three hypotheses were generated for the study, and data were analyzed with the use of (X2) Chi-Square, PPMC (r) and ANOVA at 0.05 alpha level of significance. Each hypothesis was discussed and the results of the findings were accepted. Based on the findings, the researcher recommended that adequate sleeping time allotment will boost the emotional well-being and good sleeping positions should be maintained. Similarly, married female should avoid sleeping on ones stomach because it puts a lot of strain on your back, of which back pain can make getting through the day hard, but it can make getting a good night’s sleep even harder. Dozen off make it tough in finding comfortable position sleeping. However, the comfort and effectiveness of a sleeping position are likely to influence sleep quality, which subsequently affects emotional health. By understanding these dynamics, targeted interventions can be developed to encourage healthy sleeping practices among married women in Nigeria.
