ProjectOlabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State · 2026 · NDN PRJ-2988641931778955828E-GOVERNANCE AND PUBLIC SERVICE DELIVERY IN OGUN STATE, NIGERIACletus Miracle Ogwoni · BSc · Public AdministrationThe study examined the implementation and impact of e-government initiatives on public service delivery in Ogun State, Nigeria. It investigated how digital technologies adopted by the state government influence transparency, efficiency, accessibility, and citizen satisfaction in public service delivery. The study also identified the challenges limiting the effective use of e-governance tools and infrastructure in Ogun State.
The research adopted a quantitative survey design. A purposive sampling method was used to select 100 respondents, including public servants and citizens who interact with government services. Structured questionnaires designed in Likert scale format were distributed and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
The findings revealed that e-government initiatives in Ogun State have contributed significantly to improving access to public services and reducing bureaucratic inefficiencies. Respondents agreed that digital platforms have helped reduce corruption and enhanced service transparency. The study also showed that services such as tax administration, land registration, and educational services are now being accessed online. However, several barriers were identified, including poor ICT infrastructure, low digital literacy among civil servants and the public, unstable electricity, and limited internet coverage—especially in rural areas. In addition, institutional challenges such as inadequate funding, lack of technical training, and resistance to change among public officers further hinder effective e-governance implementation.
The study concluded that although e-governance in Ogun State has led to notable improvements in service delivery, overcoming infrastructural, institutional, and digital literacy challenges is essential to achieving its full potential. Addressing these barriers will help build a more inclusive, efficient, and citizen-centered public administration system.

ProjectNnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State · 2026 · NDN PRJ-303511731778955825NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS KNOWLEGDE AND RESPONSE TO FAKE NEWS ON SOCIAL MEDIAKosisochukwu Ebele Aronu · BSc · Mass CommunicationThis study investigates the knowledge and perception of fake news on social media among undergraduates at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, using both the Uses and Gratifications Theory and Media Dependency Theory as the framework. The research explores how undergraduates engage with and respond to misinformation based on their needs and motivations, and how their perceptions are influenced by media agendas. A quantitative survey was conducted with 385 participants, focusing on four key research questions: awareness of fake news, factual understanding, influential factors shaping perceptions, and behavioral responses to misinformation. The findings indicate a high level of awareness, with the majority of respondents frequently encountering suspected fake news on'social media. However, a gap was identified between perceived and actual ability to identify misinformation, suggesting overconfidence in media literacy. Education level, peer discussions, and the reputation of news sources were key factors influencing the perception of fake news. While the majority of respondents reported verifying information through fact-checking methods, active reporting of misinformation to social media platforms or authorities remained notably low. The study emphasizes the critical role of peer influence and source credibility in shaping perceptions, in line with Agenda-Setting Theory, which posits that media outlets shape what audiences consider important. Additionally, Uses and Gratifications Theory helps explain why students rely on certain sources for information and their motivations for engaging with or ignoring fake news. Based on these findings, the study recommends integrating comprehensive media literacy programs into university curricula, focusing critical evaluation of online information and promoting active participation in combating misinformation. These programs should equip students with the skills to better identify fake news, enhance fact-checking practices, and increase engagement with digital platfornms for reporting misinformation. This study offers valuable insights into the complexities of fake news perception and response, suggesting targeted strategies to improve media literacy and encourage proactive measures against the spread of fake news.
